Installing unsupported HP Laserjet 1010 within Windows 7 x32 or x64

For HP, you have to go to the trade-in program:

1) "Install new printer" in Windows control center.
2) "Local printer"
3) "DOT4_001 (Generic IEEE....)"

4) "HP Jaserjet 3055 PCL5"

      No, that's as the name implies is a generic port driver which does not need to be installed.
      I have added a snapshot, hope that helps.

    Thanks! Worked for me, but aditionally I had to provide the Windows Vista driver files that I downloaded from the HP website at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=306507&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=306505. Choose the "Have disk" option.

    Hi Deepak,

    In case of Light color prints, please try installing Hp 5200L printer in place of 3055. All other steps remain the same.
